Made by hand
The equipal is a traditional Mexican chair with pre-Hispanic roots, closely tied to the state of Jalisco. Its crisscrossed wood-slat base and leather seat make it light, breathable and remarkably durable.
Cedar slats and otate cane are cut and dried to prevent warping.
Slats are woven diagonally and lashed onto wooden hoops to form the base.
Backrest and seat are covered in leather or canvas, stretched and stitched by hand.
Every piece is checked, sealed and packed individually for shipping.
